AHHHH! This one stresses me out! I do try to avoid the micorwave but am a dishwasher junky! With the amount of bottles, sippy cups, and plastic bowls we go through...I would be washing dishes all day! :(

we don't have a dishwasher! it is such a task...after dinner it takes my hubby and I an hour to do all the dishes (including pots and pans, bottles, etc.)!

I do use the mircro b/c you have to use COLD water from the tap! I usually only heat the b/f bed bottle for about 20 sec...probably not good, but it seems you just can't win these days!

Holly, What did you mean when you said "you have to use cold water from the tap?" Just wondering because we use our instahot (great mom tip from Stephy) and the bottles are instantly warm. Is there something bad about using hot water from tap? It is actually really hot water (water that you could make tea or coffee with) and then a cold water mix...shake, and it is ready to go. Just curious! :)

Hi Danielle!

I know that hot water from the tap leeches lead from water pipes, however, I am not sure about an instahot...

It is funny that this article was posted b/c in the new issue of "Parents" mag, there is an article about heating plastic bottles as well. I am so sad that I have been doing this!!! I only have been doing it since using formula (about a couple of months), but heating in hot water takes SO long.

I guess I should invest in glass bottles - a new trend I have been reading about - and a safer alternative.

Thanks for keeping moms updated on safety issues...

Danielle, let me know if you find any info on the instahot!
