Maria and Dave borrow Addison for the picture!

Holly, Jody and Addison
This family raised over 1/2 of the total funds accounted for the NMF team.

Kelly, Crystal and Jeff
Their children were happy as can be,
bundled up in their red wagon.

NMF Members met in Ann Arbor on Saturday, March 29th
for the Make-A-Wish "Walk For Kids" fundraiser.

It was a beautiful day for a walk.  There were hundreds of strollers, ready to cruise the town. Our team raised over $900.00 for the organization that grants terminally ill children wishes. Find out more at: http://www.wish.org

Thank you to the following members (and their husbands) for your hard work in raising the money, representing Nine Months and Forever...

Love & Logic

The Love and Logic Vaccination Plan

Our world is getting more complex and dangerous for kids every day. How do we best protect them so that they will survive? Resist the urge to overprotect! Like vaccinations for physical disease, parents who apply Love and Logic allow their kids to develop decision-making "antibodies" by being exposed to plenty of small temptations, by being allowed to make plenty of small mistakes, and by being loved enough to be held accountable for their poor decisions. It makes sense that if our child is about to run into a busy intersection or jam a fork into an electrical outlet, we're going to step in. But how do we respond when the temptations they face have much smaller, more affordable price tags?

Lucky is the child whose parents are brave enough to let them make the mistake of wasting their allowance on bubble gum. Even luckier is the child whose parents also hold them accountable by refusing to give in when they beg for more cash.Lucky is the child whose parents are brave enough to let them make the mistake of watching TV instead of finishing their science fair project. Even luckier is the child whose parents love them enough to resist the urge to do the project for them.Yes! Lucky indeed is the child who understands through experience that every decision has its consequences.

Cool new Group

(Submitted by Kelly)

Here you can get gently-used baby, kid, and maternity items like clothing, high chairs, bouncers, swings, bikes, and toys for free from other parents who have finished with them. It's also a way to get rid of baby cast offs without having to load up the car (and the kids) and take them to the thrift store.

They just started this group in detroit are....if you sign up before the end of March it is free.
