English Gardens is on Orchard Lake Road and 15 Mile (Maple)

This may "old news" for some of you but if it isn't you've got to bring the magic into your house! A friend of mine told me last week about the book The Elf on the Shelf -- and how her kids were captivated with the story. With the book comes an "elf" ...the story talks about the magic of the holidays and how important it is for everyone to be kind to one another, perform good deeds etc and how the elf (which sits somewhere in your house) reports back to santa every night with how each child behaved that day. Come morning...the elf has moved somewhere else in the house and the kids have to find it. ( I am probably not doing the story justice...)
Anyway tonight there was a knock on the door and viola the book was on our doorstep. We read the book and Leah and Jacob were so excited-- it warmed my heart! They named the elf and have already been sharing nice things that they have done....
I told them (as the book states) that they can't touch the elf or it will lose it's magic and the elf will not come in their rooms at night (Jacob would have a panic attack!!!! ).
If you haven't heard of the story look it up online and go purchase the book and bring a little extra happiness and magic into your house!!!! (no I am not being paid or commissioned by the author!!!) I bought mine at English Gardens.

Food For Thought- Pro Vaccine

A while back, Amanda Peet said "anyone who does not vaccinate their kids is a parasite." The Jenny McCarthy camp was livid. Amanda Peet did eventually apologize but has since paired up with her docs and is now advocating pro-vaccines. Listen to her views on this NPR clip.
