NOt sure if this is environmental or thrifty (or both) but we reuse our newspaper bags to stuff dirty diapers in before they go in the Diaper pail to keep the smell down. You can buy fancy bags at Babies R Us but we use our bright yellow newspaper bags!

It's not my best tip but it came to mind at the moment because I just threw one away!

I re-use plastice zip lock bags for the kids "after nap" snack. I usally give them trail mix or crackers and cheese....nothing that gets sticky. The non-sticky snacks make it easy to re-use the bags.

I also have the kids use the same cups all day.

I save some of the b-day toys and use them for Christmas gifts for the kids. I sort of feel bad about this one...but they love the toy just the same. I also like the idea of spreading them out vs. having them get them all at once.

A new thing we are doing is buying our meat and eggs from a farm. Healthier and more cost effective.
