Question of the week!

Lets face it...accidents happen to the best of us! Kids get into things that you never imagine they would or could!!! Have you ever had an accident occur with your child that could have been prevented?

YES! YES! And YES!!!! I like to call my boys adventerous and determined!!! HA! :) :) I think the worst "preventable" accident that occured in my household was about a year ago. I have a dresser in the middle of the boys cribs that had a lamp on it. I never imagined that the boys would be able to reach the lamp...sadly, I was wrong! Jake grabbed the lamp and pulled it into his bed. I heard him laughing on the monitor and when I checked on him, he had broken glass all over his crib! He also had a broken piece of glass in his hands that was about to enter his mouth!!! I almost died when I saw what had happened. Fortunately, Jake's guardian angel was watching over him! He escaped this disaster without a scratch!

Yes, my child, Sophia, went in the bathroom and came out saying here i am all done. we looked and she was holding a bottle of band-aid cut wash. we did not know if she drank it but there was no cap on it. SO we made our trip to the hospital and she was fine. When we came home i went through all our rooms and tossed stuff that we really dont use or need, old lotions, perfume, pills etc. Anything left over went up on a high shelf in a room with a kid door handle. Child Proof caps DO NOT EXIST!

I'm totally going to win the contest :)

My worst mommy moment was totally preventable--I left a naked three month old daughter on the changing table for five seconds to turn the tub water on. She wasn't rolling from back to front yet! She was, however, scooching "up" and slithered right off the end of the table! She flopped on the diaper champ and then the carpet, so she was fine but I was in a PANIC. She was fine and I learned a great lesson about NEVER leaving a baby unattended (duh!)

Sometimes I feel like everytime I turn my back Kara is into something these days... and the amount of times I have asked "what's in your mouth???"

But the scariest moment was a few months ago. We had moved to a booster seat (with a safty belt) for meals. She was happy and eating and I stepped away for a minute to flip our chicken on the BBQ and I heard a loud thud. In the 30 seconds I left her she used her feet to push against the table and down she went booster, adult chair and all...laying on her back still strapped in. It took me forever to calm her down. Luckily, besides being scared, she was ok.
