I think the worse advice I ever got was when I had my newborn I had people tell me to only feed every 2-4 hrs...well she wanted to eat every hr sometimes and other times longer! I figured out that I should just feed on demand and as long as they were growing well things were fine (-:

HMMM that is a hard one. I dont know if it is really the "worst" but a Dr. told me when a baby has a diaper rash let them roam free with out a diaper till it clears up. Well needless to say i took the advice once and OMG i spent all day running after her while she peed and crawled, pooped and crawled. SO not good advice. That was a total mess!! Worst then having a puppy!!! :-)

Definitely the worst advice I ever received was not to spoil my newborn. How can you spoil a newborn?? You should give them all the love that they need!!

Kim, that is a hilarious story! Probably not the WORST advice I got but definitely something I will ignore next time...my mom, a former lactation consultant and major breastfeeding advocate, had me waking my baby up to feed her at night---I am letting this one sleep as LONG as he/she wants from the beginning--if they are hungry they will wake up!

Good stories!!!

Our NICU nurses told us not to hold our preemie twins so much because they will get spoiled. They weren't even opening their eyes yet...how could they be spoiled??? Like Amy, I am a firm believer that you canNOT spoil a newborn! Love on them as much as possible!!! :)

My mother and mother-in-law always saying that she was not "bundled up" enough... it is 75 out ladies- she did not need a jacket and socks and a blanket on top of her! Not sure if it was advice really...or criticism :)
