(Keep in mind, these are simply suggestions and we are not asking that you bring one from each category. Contribute as much as you wish! )
1. Gift Swap-Do you have a gift at home that someone else might find more useful? Bring it for our gift swap!

I always new I loved the name Ben! Every Ben I ever new was cute! :) The name Benedict means "blessed" which we thought was very appropriate considering Ben's difficult start in this world. Jake was almost a Charlie. I still love the name Charlie but the name Jake stole my heart. Luke was almost a Cooper. Luke is such a Luke...if that makes sense?? It suits him perfectly. :) All three of my boys have family names for their middle names.
Benedict William (Kevin's dad)
Jake Francis (My dad and grandpa)
Luke Michael (Kevin's grandpa)
When choosing names, we wanted easy first names since we have such a longgggggg last name.
Danielle
Fun question! We had two girl names--Tess was a dark haired girl in my imagination, Libby was a blonde. Our baby came out with a head of dark hair, so Tess she was!! I think our next girl will be Libby no matter the hair though... :) We wanted to give her a more formal version so her full name is Tessa. Her middle name is Caroline, which is her paternal grandmother's name (I won big mother in law points with that one!)
With Sophia i just liked it because was not very popular and a unique name.(plus i love the golden girls) Her middle name was after my sister. As for Reese we picked her middle name, Malone, after Bryan's grandma. Every one thinks we picked Reese becasue we like Reese Witherspoon, (not the reason) just like the name.

Our Gavin was almost a Benicio- that way, his "white" family in Michigan could call him Ben and his Mexican family in Texas could call him Benicio. But...at the last minute, I panicked- I had never envisioned myself as having a Benicio Garcia as a child of my own. It was so "ethnic"- so at the last minute, my husband came across a pair of pants in the J.Crew catalog called "Gavin Flat Front Chinos", and Benicio Nicholas became Gavin Isaac! I still love the name Ben, though :) Maybe boy #2...
Kara means "beloved"... although she is, that is not why we picked it.
I wanted Kathryn, and my husband said "What about Kara?" I liked it, and so now we have Kara. When Kara was about 6mos old, Dave told me that he had a favorite Led Zepplin song called "carasaromba" and he thought that sounded like "Kara Svoboda"... so I guess she was named after a Led Zepplin song, but I was not aware.
Elizabeth is my mom's, grandma's and great-grandma's middle name...not sure why it's not mine :)
Hey Jodi, "Amy" means "beloved", too :)
I forgot to mention that we went with Isaac for Gavin's middle name because Isaac was a wonderful man in the bible, one of my favorites...

When I was little my aunt & uncle named my baby cousin Elena Charlotte, and I remember loving her middle name way back then. Years later Charlotte was one of the few names my hubby & I could agree on. Her middle name is Julianne after my mom.
oh, and this is kind of funny - Charlotte means "petite & feminine", and our 2 front runners if baby #2 is a girl are Molly and Caroline...I recently looked up Caroline in a baby name book and it said "little and womanly". My husband thinks by some cruel twist of fate our girls would then grow up to be big and manly, hehe :)
